Paddle Boarding - Everything you need to know!

What is paddle boarding?
Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water.

What should I bring?
We recommend you arrive with a bathing costume to wear under your wetsuit. Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are provided.
It is also a good idea to bring a towel and a set of warm clothes to change into when your activity is over. These items can be stored in the lockers provided within the changing rooms on site. (Storage is limited, please bring only what is entirely necessary)
A health & safety requirement is to wear suitable footwear between the club house and sea. Old trainers, well supported & strapped sandals or aqua shoes are acceptable. Aqua shoes are available to purchase for £10 on site.
One member of each group will be required to leave photo ID or a bank card with a member of staff for the duration of their activity

Booking & Paying for your activity

To reserve a paddle board or kayak please ring us on 07969 068 889 from 8am on the day you wish to hire.

We do not take advanced bookings due to changeable weather conditions.

It is advisable to contact us the day before you wish to hire if you are a group of six or more.

Payment can be made on site using cash or credit/debit card.

Deposits for hiring equipment.
Your photo ID and payment card will be held in a safe place during your session as a deposit.

Paddle Board Hire (Paddle board, wet suit, buoyancy aid included)

-For £35.00 Per person you receive a 2 hour self guided session including a health and safety briefing, paddle board, paddle, buoyancy aid, dry bag and wetsuit. (You may wish to bring your own wet suit if you have one)

-Paddle boards are hired out every half hour from 7am.

-You may wish to arrive ten minutes early to allow extra time for payment, getting into your wetsuit and a health and safety briefing.

-Please note on hot days we can get very busy. We kindly ask you to be patient as we try our very best to get to every one as soon as possible.

Kayak Hire (buoyancy aid included)

-For £30.00 per person you receive a 2 hour session including health and safety briefing, kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid and dry bag.
Wetsuits are generally not needed when kayaking as you are unlikely to capsize. However, if you wish to wear one they are available to hire for 10 pounds per person.

-We have single seaters available and also family kayaks.

-The quattro has a maximum capacity of 2 adults and 2 small children (roughly speaking 8 years old and under)

Alternatively 3 adults will also fit. These are maximum capacities so anything less is also acceptable on the quattro.
This kayak is £50.00 for 2 hours regardless of number of users (good value for families)

-The duo has a maximum capacity of 2 adults and 1 child or anything less.
This kayak is £50.00 for 2 hours regardless of number of users.

-A common combination of group is 2 adults and 2 adolescents. In this case we would recommend both family kayaks to allow plenty of leg room for all users.

-Kayaks are hired out at half past the hour from 7.30am.

-You may wish to arrive 10 minutes early to allow extra time for payment and health and safety briefing.

-We have added two single seater touring kayaks to our fleet. These are for use by competent and experienced kayakers who may want to venture beyond Criccieth bay.
The touring kayaks have multiple cargo holds for storing a picnic and extra gear, these will be available for half day hire, 4 hours, at 50 pounds per person.
24 Hour notice is required for touring kayak hire.

Please Note:
In adverse weather conditions (12mph wind or greater) paddle boarding and kayaking are

deemed ‘un-safe’. In the event your sessions is affected we offer Boogie Boards as an alternative at a cost of £20 per person. This includes all related equipment (buoyancy aid, fins, wetsuits).
